GEMM Prelaunch Privacy Notice

This notice covers GEMM’s public prelaunch pages, professional early-access applications and identity claims at thegemm.com and claims.thegemm.com. It explains this intake process, rather than every service a future GEMM platform may offer. Contact identity@thegemm.com with privacy questions or requests.

Information you provide

A professional application includes your name, email, location, professional role, organization, project plans, preferences and consent choices. Optional fields can include professional links, current tools, genres and how you heard about GEMM. We record the application’s source, submission time and review history.

A claims account includes your email, stated legal name, optional organization and title, accepted terms version, and verification state. Claims and rosters include the names requested, your relationship to them, professional links, supporting authority documents, messages and review decisions. If your email matches an existing application or account, we may link those records to maintain your intake history.

Stripe Identity

Stripe collects your government identity document and selfie in its hosted verification flow and uses document checks and facial matching to verify you. Review the notices and choices Stripe presents before continuing. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy and its Identity explanation.

GEMM’s claims system keeps your verification result, verified name, verification references, attempt information and relevant timestamps or error codes. It does not copy ID images or selfies from Stripe or store the date of birth, ID number or address returned in Stripe’s verification output. Authority documents you upload separately to GEMM are stored as claim evidence; avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in them.

How we use intake information

We use it to confirm your email and identity, review applications and authority, resolve competing claims, maintain reservations, respond to you and protect the service against impersonation or abuse. Administrators make claim decisions. Identity verification alone does not approve a claim or activate an account.

We record which homepage application links are used and, when supplied, associate that source with an application. This helps us understand interest in GEMM. Optional update consent lets us contact you about relevant product and launch news; you can ask us to stop those updates without withdrawing your application.

Storage, service providers and public information

Authorized administrators can review intake records and private supporting evidence. We use service providers for hosting, email delivery, storage and security, including Stripe Identity, Cloudflare Turnstile and private Cloudflare R2 storage. Providers receive information needed for their services and may process it outside your country.

Public name search shows reservation names, handles, aliases and availability. Your email, verified legal name, private messages and authority documents are not included in that public search. A claimant cannot view another claimant’s private evidence through the claims portal. Information may also need to be disclosed when required by law or to address misuse or a rights dispute.

Cookies, browser storage and security checks

Claims sign-in uses a secure session cookie. Browser storage remembers your email and sign-in challenge and helps resume a roster submission. Clearing browser data may sign you out or remove that local progress, but does not delete submitted records. Servers and security providers may process network and device information to deliver requests, limit abuse and investigate faults.

Cloudflare Turnstile evaluates browser and connection signals to check for automated abuse. Its handling of that information is explained in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Retention and your choices

We retain intake and review records to manage applications, reservations, security and disputes. Withdrawing a claim stops its review but does not by itself erase its records. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to withdraw optional update consent. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information needed for unresolved disputes, security or legal obligations. Stripe manages its own records under its policy.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to object to processing, restrict it, obtain a copy of your information or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to discuss a request. This intake is intended for adults; contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.

Updates

We will update this notice as the service changes and show the revision date above. A future platform launch may require additional notices. Submitting an application or claim does not automatically enroll you in every future GEMM service.
